    Finite-time stabilization of discontinuous fuzzy inertial Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with mixed time-varying delays

    This article aims to study a class of discontinuous fuzzy inertial Cohen–Grossberg neural networks (DFICGNNs) with discrete and distributed time-delays. First of all, in order to deal with the discontinuities by the differential inclusion theory, based on a generalized variable transformation including two tunable variables, the mixed time-varying delayed DFICGNN is transformed into a first-order differential system. Then, by constructing a modified Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional concerning with the mixed time-varying delays and designing a delayed feedback control law, delay-dependent criteria formulated by algebraic inequalities are derived for guaranteeing the finite-time stabilization (FTS) for the addressed system. Moreover, the settling time is estimated. Some related stability results on inertial neural networks is extended. Finally, two numerical examples are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the established results

    Solvability of control problem for fractional nonlinear differential inclusions with nonlocal conditions

    In this paper, we study the approximate controllability of nonlocal fractional differential inclusions involving the Caputo fractional derivative of order q ∈ (1,2) in a Hilbert space. Utilizing measure of noncompactness and multivalued fixed point strategy, a new set of sufficient conditions is obtained to ensure the approximate controllability of nonlocal fractional differential inclusions when the multivalued maps are convex. Precisely, the results are developed under the assumption that the corresponding linear system is approximately controllable.   &nbsp

    Finite-time reliable nonfragile control for fractionalorder nonlinear systems with asymmetrical saturation and structured uncertainties

    This paper investigates the finite-time stabilization problem of fractional-order nonlinear differential systems via an asymmetrically saturated reliable control in the sense of Caputo’s fractional derivative. In particular, an asymmetrical saturation control problem is converted to a symmetrical saturation control problem by using a linear matrix inequality framework criterion to achieve the essential results. Specifically, in this paper, we obtain two sets of sufficient conditions under different scenarios of structured uncertainty, namely, norm-bounded parametric uncertainty and linear fractional transformation uncertainty. The uncertainty considered in this paper is a combination of polytopic form and structured form. With the help of control theories of fractional-order system and linear matrix inequality technique, some sufficient criteria to ensure reliable finite-time stability of fractional-order differential systems by using the indirect Lyapunov approach are derived. As a final point, the derived criteria are numerically validated by means of examples based on financial fractional-order differential system and permanent magnet synchronous motor chaotic fractional-order differential system

    LARVICIDAL POTENTIAL OF INDIGOFERA TINCTORIA (FABACEAE) ON DENGUE VECTOR (AEDES AEGYPTI) AND ITS ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY AGAINST CLINICAL ISOLATES

     antimicrobial efficacy against clinical isolates.Methods: The extract was tested at various concentrations 64, 128, 256, and 512 mg/ml for antimicrobial activity and 0.1 and 5 mg/L were preparedfor larvicidal activity. The numbers of dead larvae were counted after 24 hrs of exposure.Result: The lowest minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of the extract were 128 mg/ml against Klebsiella spp. - 1 alone and rest of theclinical test pathogens execute MIC activity at 512 mg/ml. The extract also showed antifungal activity with MIC of 64 mg/ml against the Candidaalbicans. Larvicidal activity of I. tinctoria extract were tested against fourth instar larvae A. aegypti and larval mortality were found after 24 hrs withlethal concentration (LC50)=3.1870 and LC90=5.3991 were observed.Conclusions: These results indicated that the extract displayed larvicidal potential on A. aegypti and antimicrobial activity against clinical isolates.Keywords: Infectious disease, Indigofera tinctoria, Antimicrobial activity, Larvicidal activity

    Dynamic output nonfragile reliable control for nonlinear fractional-order glucose–insulin system

    The main intention of this paper is to scrutinize the problem of internal model-based dynamic output feedback nonfragile reliable control problem for fractional-order glucose–insulin system. Specifically, a robust control law that represents the insulin injection rate is designed in order to regulate the level of glucose in diabetes treatment in the existence of meal disturbance or external glucose infusion due to improper diet. By the construction of suitable Lyapunov functional, a novel set of sufficient conditions is derived with the aid of linear matrix inequalities for obtaining the required dynamic output feedback control law. In particular, the designed controller ensures the robust stability and disturbance attenuation performance against meal disturbance of the glucose–insulin system. Numerical simulation results are performed to verify the advantage of the developed design technique. Specifically, the irregular blood glucose level can be brought down to normal level by injecting suitable rate of insulin to the patient. The result exposes that the level of blood glucose is sustained in the identified ranges via the proposed dynamic output feedback control law.&nbsp

    Finite Element Analysis of Synergy Effect on Concrete Beams Incorporated with Coated Reinforcement and Alternate Aggregates

    The purpose of this study is to compare the ultimate load carrying capacity of conventional reinforced concrete beams with that of investigation specimen incorporated with coated reinforcement and partially with recycled aggregate and quarry dust. A novel technique of coated reinforcement delays the onset of corrosion with enhanced durability of structures. Results show that not even a film of corrosion (white rust) can be seen in the investigation specimen. There is a progressive increase in stiffness from the state of the first crack to ultimate stage and a negligible difference in ultimate load carrying capacity of the investigation specimen, when compared with the controlled specimen. Incorporation of galvanization, recycled aggregate, and quarry dust seemed to be compatible with the existing conservative concreting procedures. Experimental results are compared with the numerical solutions aided by finite element analysis (FEA by using ABAQUS)
